Mission Viejo, CA (November 7, 2014) - Holt Integrated Circuits supplies the smallest footprint solutions for MIL-STD-1553 applications available on the market today. All protocol ICs integrate dual analog transceivers on-chip and operate from a single 3.3V supply. Select products communicate with the host using a 4-wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), further reducing pin-count and size. When paired with Holt’s MIL-STD-1553 transformers, the resulting combination results in a compact, highly robust solution.
The HI-6131, available in a 64-pin 9mm x 9mm QFN package, offers the smallest BC/MT/RT MIL-STD-1553 solution available. The HI-6121, available in the same package size, provides a more cost effective solution for customers requiring only an RT. Both devices have been in production for many years with a proven service history. They communicate with an external host using SPI and handle all aspects of the MIL-STD-1553 protocol, including message encoding, decoding, error detection, illegal command detection and data buffering. Host data management is simplified by storing message information and data within the on-chip 32K x 16-bit static RAM. The devices pair with the PM-DB2762, a dual core, dual ratio MIL-STD-1553 transformer (1:2.5 per channel). This transformer is available in a 0.4” x 0.52” (including leads) plastic package, resulting in a small footprint combination for the entire solution. In addition to the PM-DB2762, Holt offers an entire family of MIL-STD-1553 transformers with many ratios and industry standard package styles.
