Mission Viejo, CA (October 2, 2008) – Holt Integrated Circuits, a world leader in data bus IC’s for the avionics and military industries, today announced the introduction of HI-3189, an ARINC 429 line driver drop-in replacement for both the DEI3182A and obsolete RM3182A (Fairchild/Raytheon).
The HI-3189 allows programming of the high or low speed ARINC 429 rise and fall time specifications via a digital input, without changing the value of external timing components. The output voltage swing is adjustable by the application of an external voltage to the VREF input. Furthermore, internal 37.5 Ohm resistors match the outputs to the ARINC 429 line driver impedance requirements. Alternatively, additional outputs are provided with no internal resistance for applications that require external clamping circuits and resistance to protect the device from excessive voltages such as lightning strikes. All outputs are ARINC 429 short-circuit compliant and are internally protected from over-voltage transients.

The HI-3189 is available in industrial or extended (-55oC to +125oC) temperature range. Samples are available immediately.
