This applications note describes a simple interface design between the HI-8582 and an industry-standard microcontroller, the Philips XA-G49. Assembly language code routines are shown as examples of how a user may program the configuration of the HI-8582, pre-load and verify ARINC 429 labels for auto-recognition, transmit data, poll status and retrieve received ARINC 429 data from the receivers.
