10 Ohm Analog Switch with Outside-the-Rails Switching Capability

Friday, October 19, 2012

Mission Viejo, CA (October 18, 2012)Holt Integrated Circuits today expanded its Analog Switch family with the release of three new products capable of switching analog signals outside the range of IC rail voltage.  The devices can switch +/− 12V signals while operating from a supply range of 3.0V to 5.5V, eliminating the need for an additional bias supply outside the normal logic range.  These devices also exhibit open circuit when the power is off, making them ideal for applications requiring low leakage when no power is applied. Switch On-Resistance (Ron) is 10 Ohm maximum across the entire switching range at 25oC.

The HI-8200/HI-8201/HI-8202 are quad single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switches that are open-circuit whenever the IC supply pins are at ground. The HI-8200 has four normally open (NO) switches, the HI-8201 has four normally closed (NC) switches and the HI-8202 has two NO and two NC switches.  The devices are fabricated on a robust silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology for latch-up free operation and maximum isolation, with low off-state leakage. Switching operation is break-before-make.

Holt’s market leading ARINC 429 communication bus products provide all-inclusive single-supply solutions,” said Anthony Murray, Director of Business Development at Holt. “These devices further expand bus multiplexing capability without the need for additional power supplies, offering our customers significant cost and space savings.”

The devices are available in industrial −40oC to +85oC and extended −55oC to +125oC temperature ranges and come in 20‑pin TSSOP and 5mm x 5mm 16-pin QFN packages.
