New Discrete-to-Digital Interface ICs Sense 28V/Open and Open/0V

Mission Viejo, CA - Further broadening its support to the avionics system designer, Holt has introduced a family of Discrete-to-Digital Interface ICs. The HI-8422 product offers eight channels of 28V / Open sensors and eight channels of Open / 0V sensors in a single device. The part is available in a small surface-mount 32-pin TQFP package. Operating from a single 5V supply the HI-8422 outputs CMOS/TTL level data on an eight-bit tristate bus for ease of interface to the digital sub-system. Completing the family are a six channel Open / 0V sensor (HI-8420) and a six channel 28V / Open sensor (HI-8421). All devices feature high impedance inputs when the device is powered down.

"The new Discrete-to-Digital product line complements Holt’s extensive selection of avionics databus products for ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553," says Jerry Donaldson, Director of Marketing, "The new parts offer customers a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all their special interface components. The HI-8422 is the most flexible product in the industry for designers who need to deal with large numbers of discrete inputs and must meet challenging cost and board space constraints."
